Senior Backend Developer

Company Overview

PT Jaggara Global Workforce is hiring 2 Senior Backend Developers for the Appliance.io brand.

About the Role

This role is ideal for a senior backend engineer who can take strong ownership of backend systems, improve legacy code, strengthen system reliability, and support scalable product development. You will work closely with Product, Frontend, QA, DevOps, Data, and Engineering teams to build reliable backend services, APIs, integrations, database structures, and production-ready backend solutions.

Salary Range

Rp 15.000.000 – Rp 18.000.000 gross/month

Responsibilities

• Design, build, maintain, and improve backend services, APIs, integrations, database structures, and application logic.

• Refactor and improve legacy backend code without disrupting production stability.

• Improve backend performance, response time, query efficiency, scalability, and system reliability.

• Develop and maintain APIs, service behavior, data flow, authentication, authorization, validation, and error handling.

• Troubleshoot backend bugs, production issues, performance bottlenecks, integration failures, and system reliability problems.

• Identify technical debt, backend risks, maintainability concerns, and improvement opportunities.

• Participate in technical planning, task breakdown, backend estimation, code review, release preparation, and production follow-up.

• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, QA, Data, DevOps, and other Engineering team members to ensure backend work supports shared delivery outcomes.

• Support other backend developers through technical guidance, peer review, knowledge sharing, and practical problem-solving when needed.

Requirements

• Strong backend development experience, preferably 5+ years.

• Strong understanding of backend architecture, APIs, services, databases, integrations, and system reliability.

• Experience with PHP and Laravel is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of MySQL and/or other relational database management systems.

• Experience designing, maintaining, and improving backend APIs and services.

• Ability to write clean, secure, scalable, maintainable, and testable backend code.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills.

• Experience improving backend performance, query efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.

• Comfortable working with production systems and handling backend-related incidents responsibly.

• Able to communicate technical risks, blockers, dependencies, trade-offs, and implementation limitations clearly.

• Written and spoken English fluency is mandatory.

Nice to Have

• Experience with Golang, Python, PostgreSQL, Docker, event-driven architecture, Elasticsearch or Meilisearch.

• Experience with machine learning integrations, observability tools, monitoring tools, or AWS/cloud platforms.

• Experience supporting junior or mid-level backend developers through review, guidance, and technical explanation.

• Improve backend code quality, test coverage, documentation, and release readiness.

• Improve API reliability, service stability, database discipline, and backend performance.

• Deliver production-ready backend features consistently.

• Strengthen backend accountability, engineering discipline, and cross-functional collaboration.
