We are a Bandung-based technology company supporting U.S. B2B software businesses. Our team operates fully in English and builds complex SaaS platforms used by hundreds of businesses across 20+ countries.

Our platform currently runs on a hybrid architecture:

• Laravel (legacy services)

• Golang (newer services)

As we continue to scale, we are balancing:

• Feature delivery for active customers

• Migration from legacy to modern architecture

• System reliability and observability

• Long-term technical health and debt reduction

Role Overview

We are hiring a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers, drive technical execution, and improve how we build software at scale.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You will spend roughly 40% of your time in code, architecture, and technical decisions, and 60% on team leadership, mentorship, and delivery management. This is not a pure people management role.

You will work closely with leadership and senior engineers to improve engineering quality, delivery predictability, system reliability, and overall team effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Drive architecture decisions in partnership with the Tech Lead

• Lead design reviews and technical proposals for major initiatives

• Make technical calls on the Laravel-to-Go migration, payments infrastructure, and reliability work

• Improve system reliability, observability, and maintainability

• Contribute hands-on code on high-leverage technical work

• Help establish engineering best practices and technical standards

Team Management

• Manage and develop a team of backend and frontend engineers

• Run 1:1s, performance reviews, and career conversations

• Hire senior engineers and grow the team thoughtfully

• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and technical excellence

• Support engineers in technical growth and career development

Delivery & Execution

• Improve delivery velocity and predictability

• Help define and track engineering KPIs

• Ensure realistic commitments and consistent delivery

• Improve sprint workflows, tooling, and team processes

• Support cross-functional collaboration across teams

AI Workflow Adoption

• Drive adoption of AI-powered development tools across the team

• Establish patterns and standards for AI-assisted development

• Mentor engineers on effective use of tools such as Claude Code and Cursor

• Build internal documentation and training for AI workflows

Platform Stability & Reliability

• Improve system reliability across services

• Implement observability and monitoring

• Identify risks early and reduce production incidents

• Lead resolution of complex production incidents

• Improve long-term platform reliability and scalability

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in software engineering

• 2+ years managing engineering teams of 5 or more

• Currently hands-on with code (you should be comfortable in pull requests and architecture reviews)

• Strong backend or distributed systems experience

• Hands-on production experience with AI development tools (Claude Code, Cursor, or equivalent)

• Strong understanding of system reliability and observability

• Fluent English (spoken and written)

• Able to work on-site in Bandung

Nice to Have

• Experience with Golang

• Experience with Laravel or legacy PHP modernization

• Payments or fintech infrastructure background

• Experience scaling engineering teams from 10 to 25+

• Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms

Compensation & Benefits

• IDR 30,000,000 – 35,000,000 per month (depending on experience)

• Full-time on-site role in Bandung

• Work directly with leadership and U.S. stakeholders

• Hardware provided upon request
